    People, save yourself some grief, go to AthleanX. I've been following Jeff for 13 YEARS. There is nothing he hasn't covered numerous times in thousands of videos. This stupid fucking set up may activate lower abs a bit more but with zero setup and prep time, you merely need to lay on the floor, raise your legs and pelvis upwards. Plus, why are you not doing ALL your abs? To isolate one particular area to this extent means you have to do the same for the mid, then upper abs. I'm retired and I'm not spending that much time in the gym when two exercises cover the whole gamut and one of those is getting the pelvis off the ground. Dr Gains. Won't even use his real name to sell you shit. Look up Athlene-X, Jeff Cavaliere knows how to heal injuries, work around them, get you stronger, get you bigger. At 71, with 50 years in the gym, 5 motorcycle crashes, 51 injuries (non gym related), Jeff is the only one I can say I trust for accurate, REASONABLE information.

    *This is simply not true. The human body is designed to perform compound exercises first and foremost. The bicep is more than just in the upper arms. It connects to the back and forearm. Look at the biceps of athletes and prison inmates who do tons of chinups. They're fricken huge while natty*

    🤔….Great vid! - thx. 1st time viewer here - and going to check out some of your other content - just might have to sub in - your thorough yet ‘to-the-point’ presentation was impressive 👍 I think it is quite likely that most real athletes, and also for “bodybuilders”👀 a sub-group name, by the way, that I think is a misnomer and 🙄 actually laughable if you want my real feelings on that topic (especially when it comes to ‘professional body-building’ 😡 should be re-categorized as ‘body destroying’! - imho)…. don’t have a good understanding of muscles’ point of origination and where they insert - which is very important in selecting an exercise or several exercises targeting certain areas of the body. Your video presentation was outstanding in showing this (in the case of the calf muscles), and did so in a clear, concise manner that most anyone could understand. I enjoyed the video a lot - well done.

      I would do missiles where the legs either bent or straight are used for weight as the pelvic tilt forward and continued crunch works the abs from bottom up.

    I've never had this issue, b/c my gym has the Life Fitness Signature Series Leg Raise Bosu Ball stand. The ball helps keep your pelvis forward, and keep your hips stationary while lifting tilting the pelvis and legs as high as possible. I know it works, b/c I feel the soreness in my abs, below my waistline.

    I saw your video 6 months ago and began using my bench for this lower ab work out.......after 6 months my abdominal region is solid. My upper ab region was good but I began the lower ab work out on my bench in conjunction with sets of rollouts and for 59 years of age, I haven't been this trim in 30 years. Appreciate the video 👍

    My suggestion would be to not incorporate the single leg squat in the lift and just do a seated and standing version. Then you can focus on the target muscle without all the body movement, balancing and having to hold on to things for support to throw your form off during the lift. You could superset the two variations or program them separately. Since all the other hip extension and squatting exercises hit the maximus it should be getting plenty of work already and it's not like this exercise should replace any conventional leg exercise anyway. 3/10
